Decorating Your Media Room

In a Media Room, organization is key. This begins with what we like to call your TV Center, or where you keep the TV. It’s a good idea to keep in mind where you would store all your technological gizmos when shopping for a stand or surrounding furniture for your TV. This is important in keeping the room from becoming cluttered, should you have too little space for all of your media devices.

That being said, of course you want the media room to look just as great as the rest of your house! Once you have the TV center set up, you can focus on the appearance of the rest of the room. Here there are two different paths you could take, dependent on whether you want a casual media room or a cinema-like one. For a more casual room, pick a sofa, coffee table, rug, and whichever other pieces you would like, all with colors and textures that project a warmer, cozier mood to you. For a cinema-like room, go for some movie chairs and modern furniture. Dark but neutral colors for the furniture and walls will let the colors on the TV pop more, enhancing the viewer experience. Now, for the final touches. A media room is a great place to project YOURSELF into the room. Put up posters of movies, bands, quotes, anything that you like or inspires you! Placing little trinkets of things you like throughout the room go a long way in personalizing it. Make this room a projection of YOU!
